My friend Liesje and I had an amazing time in Vancouver, but we also rented a car one day and drove to Seattle! I liked Seattle so much, I thought it deserved its own blog post. :)

When we got to the border it was hilarious – we really didn’t understand the procedures at ALL haha. And then I overheard another customs officer talking to this guy trying to enter the US. 'Where are you from?' 'Malawi' 'Hm, Malawi huh? And where’s that?' 'In Africa' 'Soooo…. Malawi is an African country?' (the customs officer sounded.. sceptical) And in a final effort to convince the customs officer Malawi was in fact a real country, the man said: 'Yeah, umm.. You know that kid Madonna adopted not so long ago? Yeah, he was from Malawi.' I laughed so hard, and even our until that moment very serious customs officer nodded in agreement, like, yeah, he really was from Malawi and smiled.

Our rental was MUCH nicer than expected, it even had a sunroof and a touchscreen radio thingy!

This car freshener was part of my Festival Essentials Kit, so I decided to bring it. It was totally unnecessary since the car already had a really nice new car smell to it, but the smell of the freshener was also very, very overwhelming.

Since I don't have my drivers license, I could just sit back and enjoy the lovely scenery :')

You know you're in the US when you see a huge christmas style coca cola truck driving by :P

So anyway, we arrived in sunny Seattle pretty late due to customs, but it was a good day!
Do you know that Windows background of the Space Needle? I tried to recreate it, but I didn't really remember how the photo was taken so.. my best shot :P

The famous Public Market. Which isn't really that special.

The first Starbucks ever. (Starbucks haters shut up)
And after some serious shopping (Sale @ Victoria's Secret? I shopped my heart out.) we had to go back to Vancouver, and the customs officer didn't take the departure form out of our passports, so now we have to send that to the US (or else the US thinks we are living in the US illegally), with lots of proof we are back in NL (like bank statements and boarding passes). But but but even if we do all that, there's a good chance they won't do anything with it, so when we ever go back to the US, we will have to explain why it says on their computer that we are illegal immigrants. Argh.

So anyway, my trip to Vancouver and Seattle was awesome and amazing and I loved the fact I was there with Liesje. Good times! <3
