So my friend Anne and I went for a 'chocolate temptation experience' for my birthday at Juni, a cute little breakfast/lunch restaurant in Noordeinde, Den Haag. Noordeinde is an artsy neighbourhood, with small art galleries, home decoration shops, cafes, bakeries and some of my favourite restaurants.
Juni is very small and always packed, but cosy and home-y.
Essentially the 'chocolate temptation' was a high tea but without sandwiches and mini quiches and with more chocolate. We really did not expect enormous pieces of cake and brownies. The 'Roald Dahl' cake was delicious, fluffy chocolate cake, jam, whipped cream, , more chocolate cake, chocolate. Roar.
Also, tea came with more delicious (carrot) cake. Good thing I skipped lunch for this thing (really should've skipped breakfast & dinner as well). They serve lots of different teas btw, which is really nice.
We reeeeeally had to power-through and it took us a good couple of hours, but we finished it all! Ha! Even the waitress was surprised when she picked up the plates. And the people next to us with a similar plate of cakes took doggybags home. But we're not embarrassed :P
I absolutely recommend this place for lunch, you musttt try the Roald Dahl cake! Their sandwiches are amazing as well - huge chunks of bread, just the way I like it.
