Ahhhhh I'm home. I feel like I've been gone for most of April and May, and I don't want to sound like a dick for travelling so much and then *complaining* about missing home but MAN, it's really good to be home.
I absolutely LOVE to travel (okay yeah so who doesn't) and discover new things and places, but travelling also always makes me appreciate all the things I have at home so much more. Stupid things, like having some tiger bread with butter and a thick slice of some typical Dutch extra matured cheese for breakfast. Or being able to drink water from the tap (that probably sounds dumb, but I really take for granted how nice it is to be able to drink as much water as I like without having to filter it first or having it taste like chlorine).
Sleeping in my own bed. Smooth roads.
And I also get so happy whenever I'm on my way home from the airport and watch those unmistakably Dutch landscapes pass me by. Green flat fields, no hills to be seen. Flowers. A stereotypical windmill here and there. I really love living here in the Netherlands.
Oh well. Just give me a couple of weeks before I get bored of my little town again and crave the excitement of those bustling skyscraper cities. The grass is always greener, right?
